Home-made muesli
This term we have been learning about carbs, sugars and properties of food week. This week we learnt how to make home-made muesli. It’s so simple!
All you need is:
- Oats
- Any kind of oil or butter
- Any kind of sugar, honey, golden syrup etc.
- Then you add your preferred extras such as vanilla extract, cinnamon, pumpkin seeds, nuts, dried fruit, dried coconut etc.
Method is:
- Heat 3 table spoons of oi in a pot, add your sweetener and bring it to the boil. Turn it off and mix in 3 cups of oats and all of the other ingredients except for the dried fruit.
- Heat the oven to 150c and spread the mixture out on a baking tray with baking paper. Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown or ‘dextrinised.’
- Let it cool down and then put in an airtight container. Enjoy with yoghurt or milk and fresh fruit on top.
